Photo Story 3
The web 2.0 tool that I am presenting is Photo Story 3. It is free to download by clicking here. It is a 5 megabyte program that takes little time to download and install. It does check to make sure you are using a real copy of windows before allowing you to download it, so if you have a pirated copy of windows, you won't be able to use it.

Photo Story 3 is a presentation program based on pictures that you took with a digital camera or pictures you downloaded off of the internet.

Here is a basic outline of making a presentation with Photo Story.

  • After installing the program, you upload which pictures to Photo Story that you want to use.

  • You can then edit the slides just like when using PowerPoint, such as adding text to the slides and choosing how they transition to the next slide.

  • Users can then edit how long each slide is displayed.

  • Adding audio narration is one of the coolest features of Photo Story. Users can add audio narration to each specific slide. The program can automatically transition to the next slide after the audio is done playing for the current slide.

  • At the end, you can choose to add background music to your presentation. You can upload your own MP3 or music file. If you don't have music to upload, Photo Story has its own music to choose from. The music is categorized into many genres and categories to make sure you get the right type of music for your presentation. Some of the categories are happy, sad, adventurous, legendary, somber, and more. The tempo and intensity can also be adjusted to properly suit your presentation.

  • When all the editing is done, the slideshow is turned into a Windows Media Video file (WMV) so you can play it just like any other video.

The following video provides a pretty good tutorial with visuals of the Photo Story user interface so you can see where the buttons are and other important items.

Here is an example of a Photo Story presentation that I made about my dogs. You can stream it or download it for your keeping by clicking on the link below.
